From the shores of Lake Pend Oreille to the heart of downtown Coeur d’Alene, the Sweet Lou's® journey is rooted in great food and North Idaho heart.

In April 2011, Chad and Meggie Foust opened the first Sweet Lou’s® Restaurant and Bar on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille. The concept was simple: serve high-quality American fare in an atmosphere that felt like home. The community embraced it instantly, leading the husband-and-wife team to open their second location in Ponderay just one year later.

As our family grew, so did our vision. In 2016, we expanded to downtown Coeur d’Alene, introducing Sweet Lou’s® Restaurant and Tap House. Here, we paired our signature menu with 32 taps, an extensive wine list, and a full bar—all set against the backdrop of beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene.

Almost exactly halfway between Sandpoint and Coeur d’Alene, you’ll find the newest Sweet Lou’s® Restaurant and Tap House in Athol, Idaho. The Athol location opened its doors in April 2022 and the Foust’s are excited to be serving the recipes they’ve been known for to the area. Stop in on your way to Farragut State Park or after a fun-filled day at Silverwood Theme Park.
